New! Sculpting with Duct Tape (ages 11-13)
This studio course explores the techniques of both the additive and assemblage processes of sculpture. By building with duct tape, students will learn the concepts of form and texture as they apply the principles of balance and symmetry to their sculptures. Throughout the course there will be a strong emphasis on the armature as it acts as the skeletal system of the sculpture. These armatures will then become figurative structures constructed from recycled materials and covered with duct-tape. The duct-tape would become, and take on the function of“skin”. Sculptures can be made life size or smaller and could be figurative, look like an animal or be a mythical creature. A materials list of recyclables will be sent upon registration.
